Ahhhh! I’m frustrated. I’m irritated. I want to crawl into a box and curl up in the fetal position. I never want to leave the safety of the box. How am I suppose to decrease my stress level from punching a hole into the wall to happily hanging out at the arcade sipping an Orange Julius?
Everyone has different ways of getting through their issues. Some people throw away anything that has to do with their hurt emotions. Other people bottle up said emotions and fake their happiness. One way or another, it takes time to figure out what you need to get through the pain.
For me, I wallow in self-pity for quite awhile. When I have to go out, I use the relatively neutral smirk combined with a blank stares. Basically, I hide my pain. But when the time comes, the time when I don’t feel like an unbelievable douchebag, I put on my Creative Aurvana Live headphones and feel the beat of my feel-good playlist. After a couple of songs, the fake smirk turns into my half smile/smirk. No one can resist “Eye to Eye” by Tevin Campbell, A Goofy Movie is a childhood classic. Everything becomes all good.
So my advice to get through those tough times is to let it ride out. When you feel somewhat better, put on those favorite headphones which enhance the sound of your beats. There’s nothing like listening to your favorite songs to help get a better outlook throughout the day.
